The Aerospace sector is a significant driver for the Canadian ecosystem. It represented in 2021, $24 billion of the GDP, and is a strong exporter of products and parts. It is one of the leader for integration of technology, and R&D with investment nearing $710 million. It is supported by skilled labour and its STEM employment is two times higher than the national manufacturing average. However, it is facing some important challenges and in this talk, we’ll review and comment on some of them, and particular from the point of view of labour, Technology integration and sustainability.

Florent Lefevre-Schlick (Flo) has had an interesting career in various leadership roles in the military, Aerospace & Defense sector, and more recently leading two initiatives in the Aerospace sector at McMaster University.
